Welcome to our School Council page. Sandowne has a very committed and involved Council. Along with very active fundraising , our Council is involved with countless initiatives:
- Volunteering at the school
- Organizing and/or collaborating on school-wide events such as dance-a-thons, Family nights, spring picnic and classroom celebrations
- Researching and running fundraising initiatives for the school
- Community support such as the Sandowne Helping Sandowne initiative
Our Council meets from 7 – 8pm on the second Wednesday of most months. Our remaining meetings for this year are as follows: Oct. 9, Nov. 13, Jan. 8, Feb. 12, Apr. 9 and May 14
This year, our Council Co-Chairs are Alex Weston and Delali Hotsonyame. Steve Kingston is our Treasurer and Kayla Crone is our Secretary.

As a council, we’ve been able to support class field trips, in-school learning extensions, author visits and technology replacement in recent years. This year, council is also committed to supporting our nutrition program to help ensure that all students have access to food. Your generous contributions have been a real difference in our students’ experiences at school!
Parent Involvement Committee
The Parent Involvement Committee supports, encourages and enhances the engagement of parents/guardians of the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) in their children’s education, to improve student achievement and well-being. Learn more about the Parent Involvement Committee.
Waterloo Region Assembly of Public School Councils (WRAPSC)
