Sandowne Public School opened in September 1975. Located on Sandowne Drive, the school is part of the Lincoln Village neighbourhood.

Sandowne is a school rich in diversity and currently has an enrolment of 312 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. Instruction is offered in English and in Partial French Immersion. Students in Grades 7 and 8 continue their studies in English at Lincoln Heights P.S. or in French Immersion at MacGregor Senior P.S. Sandowne is now pleased to offer a Full Day Kindergarten program.

Sandowne students are engaged in a variety of house league teams and clubs. Watch our Twitter feed for regular updates on school activities. Students in Grades 5 and 6 also have the opportunity to be a part of the Kodály choir. Sandowne was the site of the original Kodály choir festival in Waterloo Region and the tradition, based on quality music education, continues.

Parent involvement is an integral part of Sandowne’s success. Sandowne has an active School Council that meets on a monthly basis. Our parent volunteers support the school in a myriad of ways including fundraising, participating in special events and off-campus trips, Home Reading, and the Greening committee. School Council activities include special lunch days, a halloween party, a family skating party, and the annual Meet the Teacher BBQ.

Sandowne is proud to have completed extensive interior renovations. A 13, 000 square foot addition was built and completed in December, 2011. The result is a beautiful, modern educational facility that radiates warmth and a sense of community.

We proudly welcome your family to our Sandowne community!
