On October 1st, Sandowne staff and students will be wearing orange shirts in support of Indigenous survivors of Indian Residential School. Last week, WRDSB Equity consultant, Christina Elmslie, spent the day with Sandowne, reading age-appropriate stories about Indian Residential Schools to our Grades 1 to 6 classes. Please join us in wearing orange next Monday and spend some time discussing our Indigenous history in Canada with your children. The link below provides deeper information into the history of Orange Shirt Day.
